It is the property of the coastal protection agency and is Cayenne’s largest group of islands formed by: the Mother (la Mère), the Father (le Père), the lost Child (l’Enfant perdu), the Malingre (le Malingre) and the Breast (les Mamelles). Nowadays, only the islet of the Mother welcomes tourists. It is a rare natural and historical area of the Guianese coast. The complete access of the islet is possible by staying on the marked trails. However, it is important to know that the site is prohibited during the night, as well as hunting, capturing animals even the dead ones and gathering their eggs. Currently it is a private operator, the « Wayki Village », that provides transportation.
